Carving out a workspace
So, it has been a while since I've had dedicated studio space. I culled some things a while back but more needs to go.
My "new" work space will be in the hallway of my small home. It's 4 feet wide. My set up will be 15 inches deep, with two tall bookcases on each end that are 11 inches deep. The "bench" will be 60 inches wide, and at a height of about 32-33 inches - tall enough to accommodate two rolling carts. The carts will live under the work bench when not in use.
One cart will hold frequently used jewelry tools and current projects. The other will hold my sewing machine, cutting mats, sewing tools, etc. Knitting tools will live next to my armchair in the living room.
The shelves above the bench area are recycled from my old studio. One tall cabinet will be for wire and jewelry, the other for knitting, sewing and spinning.
This week I've been working my way through all my stuff, sorting into keep, give-away, sell and trash piles. It has been slow going, but I will get there.
Thought you might like to see what I'm up to. Will post pics as things progress.
